The next steps are simple: complete your reservation agreement, submit your retainer fee, and review our reservation policies so you know exactly what to expect throughout the process.

Our waiting list is for serious buyers only: A non-refundable retainer fee of $500 gets you on the list. Space is filled first-come, first-served, with UGD always retaining the first 2 picks for themselves or approved breeders on every litter. The list helps ensure you get the quality dog you’re looking for, including the right color, temperament, and sex. The retainer fee is applied to the puppy

Retainer Fee:

Looking For: (size and purpose – ie: size discussed with Charlene or Marissa like "mini, red wavy or curly coat, family pet")

Waitlist retainer: This non-refundable fee secures a family’s place on our waitlist and covers care, socialization, training, veterinary care, and communication. The retainer applies to the puppy’s purchase price. Buyer may leave the waitlist and forfeit the retainer. No refunds are given, including due to sire/dam retirement or death, or buyer’s death. Retainers may be applied to future litters.

Fulfilling requests: The breeder will do their best to fulfill the buyer's request for a puppy; however, the buyer understands the breeder has no control over how many puppies will be in the litter and/or how many of each sex and/or color will be whelped.

Notice: Breeder will give buyer notice when puppies are born and will advise the buyers of the projected puppy picking days but, in most cases, it will be about 5 weeks of age. Regular updates on the whole litter may be available online and via texts with breeder.

Picking Day: Weekly photos/videos are provided. Around 5 weeks, buyers receive appointments in waiting-list order to choose a puppy or pass. Retainers are non-refundable and held for a future litter. One free pass is allowed; a second forfeits the retainer and requires a new one. After choosing, the contract is signed. Balance is due at 8-week pickup or before delivery.

Puppy Reservation & Policies

At Ugly Dad Goldendoodles, our goal is to make the process of bringing home your new puppy exciting, transparent, and stress-free. Please review the following policies carefully before reserving your puppy.

Retainer Policy

A $500 non-refundable retainer is required to hold a spot on our waitlists. This fee compensates us for the time, care, and resources involved in raising the puppies, reviewing and approving applications, communicating with families and planning litters & placements.
Retainers are applied toward the final purchase price of your puppy.
Puppy picks are made in the order retainers are received.

Puppy Selection Policy

Puppy selection takes place at 5 weeks of age.
Families may visit in person or choose virtually through photos or video if out of town.
For in-person visits:
- Please wash your hands before entering the puppy pen.
- Wear clean socks or enter barefoot (no shoes in the nursery).
- Please stop beforehand if you need a restroom, as none are available in the nursery.
These rules help us limit outside traffic and keep our puppies healthy and safe.

Reserved Spots

We always reserve the first pick of each litter for our breeding program.
On occasion, this spot may be released for adoption at an additional fee, without breeding rights.

Breeding Rights

Breeding rights are available on select males and females.
